Kuwait suffered one of its worst nights of Iranian retaliatory attacks since the conflict began, with a second water and electricity plant hit in as many days and flights suspended.

On Saturday, Kuwait said an Iranian attack struck a water and electricity plant, following a similar strike that damaged a desalination and electricity plant on Friday. Tehran launched attacks on US military sites hosted by Gulf neighbours including Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar in response to a seventh night of US strikes on Iran overnight Friday.

US airstrikes hit key Iranian infrastructure including bridges and a port surveillance tower, prompting Iranian officials to cite "attacks on power infrastructure" and urge the public to reduce electricity use. Iran's Revolutionary Guards released footage showing missiles launched toward US targets in Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman.

Iran reported 38 people killed and more than 400 injured in US strikes since June 22, 2026. The escalation marks a dangerous widening of hostilities across the Gulf region.
