Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi fired the operations commander of Maysan province and ordered an investigation after finding that attacks targeting Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline came from a site within the region. The closure of the pipeline sparked further fallout after the attacks were determined to have been launched from inside Iraq. The attacks targeted a pumping station near Al Dhekra, Saudi Arabia.
