Hang Seng Indexes Co. announced Friday that Hua Hong Grace Semiconductor Ltd. and Weichai Power Co. will be added to Hong Kong's equity benchmark following its quarterly review. The index compiler stated that the new constituents will bring the total number of members on the gauge to 95 from 93.

The inclusion of these two companies reflects the continued diversification of the benchmark, with Hua Hong Grace representing the semiconductor sector and Weichai Power representing industrial manufacturing. Both firms have demonstrated significant market capitalization and liquidity to qualify for the index.

The changes will take effect on Sept. 7, at which point the updated composition will be reflected in the index calculations. This quarterly review is part of Hang Seng Indexes Co.'s regular maintenance to ensure the benchmark accurately represents the Hong Kong market.
