A brush fire sent smoke rising over the 405 freeway in Los Angeles on Wednesday and forced the nearby Getty Center to close, although evacuation warnings have since been lifted.

The Getty Fire was reported just after 4 p.m. along the side of the freeway and grew to an estimated 25 acres, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters stopped its forward progress about two hours later, while around 185 LAFD officers worked to contain the blaze.
