Fresenius Medical Care AG reported second-quarter operating income exceeding market expectations, driven by its dialysis services segment. The company posted operating income of €569 million (excluding special items) for the period ending June 30, surpassing the consensus forecast of €515 million. Revenue reached €4.86 billion, slightly above estimates of €4.79 billion, with earnings per share at €0.81, beating the €0.68 consensus.

Despite a decline in patient treatment volumes, Fresenius reaffirmed its 2026 outlook, anticipating revenue to be "broadly flat" and operating income to grow within a "mid-single digit percent growth rate" (positive or negative). The company indicated that its cost-cutting initiatives and favorable U.S. reimbursement rates are counterbalancing the volume decrease. Management expects a temporary Medicare payment boost for certain new drugs and equipment, known as TDAPA, which has positively impacted profits, to begin tapering off in the latter half of the year.
