Ecuador asks the US 'every day' for more help fighting a cocaine trade worth an estimated $30 billion a year, President Daniel Noboa said Monday.

'We're going after the big fish,' Noboa told Bloomberg Television's Francine Lacqua in an interview in New York City. 'We're going after the big structures, and we're going to need the help of the US and also the help of European countries.'

Noboa insisted local security forces should remain in charge of the effort.
