The Clorox Company reported earnings for its fiscal fourth quarter on Monday that beat analyst expectations, despite lower sales volumes and additional costs due to logistics and its recent acquisition of Purell hand sanitizer-maker GOJO Industries. The company anticipates a full-year sales increase as a result of the Purell deal. Clorox's fourth-quarter net income was $1.12 billion, or $2.19 per diluted share, compared to $1.06 billion, or $2.06 per diluted share, a year earlier.

Sales volume decreased by 2% year-over-year, but sales per square foot increased by 4.1%. The company's CEO, Ben Shem, stated that the Purell acquisition is expected to contribute positively to the company's sales in the coming years.
