The latest sequel in the legendary Silent Hill series, called Silent Hill: Townfall, has been cracked days before its official release, even during the pre-release stage. Today, the game has been made available to players who purchased the €59.99 Silent Hill: Townfall Deluxe Edition, allowing them to experience the title before its general release. However, hackers have wasted no time pirating the game, as it has already been cracked by the infamous "RUNE" group, known for bypassing modern digital rights management software.

The group managed to crack Silent Hill: Townfall and make it fully playable, aided by the absence of advanced DRM layers like Denuvo, relying solely on Steam for protection. Officially, the game is scheduled for release on September 24, just two days from now. That's when regular players can start their gameplay journey through Steam, where the game is priced at €49.99.

The game is developed by Screen Burn game studio and published by the legendary KONAMI, which has supported the franchise since its inception, along with Annapurna Interactive. The game follows Simon Ordell as he returns to the remote island of St. Amelia in 1996, only to find its fog-covered town seemingly deserted. This first-person psychological horror experience combines exploration, stealth, and combat as Simon uncovers the island's dark history and his own connection to it.

Players will also use an unusual CRTV device to uncover clues and fragments of the past while solving story-driven puzzles.
