Google has announced that actor Henry Cavill will build a video game on a Googlebook this November, as part of a marketing partnership for its new Android-based laptops. Google describes Cavill as an actor, producer, and tech enthusiast with his own production company and a passion for gaming and fantasy lore, and says he is already using the laptop for personal passion projects.\n\nGoogle hasn't shared the genre, the game engine, who else is involved, or what form the end result will take. Updates are apparently coming through a landing page and an Instagram account.

Cavill said: "When Google reached out to me and explained what they are doing with Googlebook, and all of its new, integrated tools, it had me intrigued. After being hands on and spending some time with their team, I believe this has the potential to be the start of something rather special."\n\nThe Googlebook lineup itself is almost here. Pre-orders opened on September 21, and laptops from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo reach US shelves starting October 4, with prices from $899.

They run on Intel and Qualcomm chips, and Google's pitch includes Antigravity, its AI agent development platform, plus a Linux terminal for developers. A single month is a very short window for a game of any real scale, so it looks like we're getting something small.
