Sunderland secured their first points of the season as substitute Wilson Isidor's effort earned them a 1-0 win against Fulham at the Stadium of Light. The victory bounced back from their opening-day defeat at Ipswich.

Isidor scored with 15 minutes to go in the second half, turning the ball into an empty net from Habib Diarra's ball after Bernd Leno missed an attempt to cut the cross out. It followed a glorious chance where Isidor hit the post from a perfect position after being teed up by Enzo Le Fee.

Fulham remain winless, suffering two defeats from two matches. They looked bright in stages but rarely threatened the Sunderland goal throughout the game.

Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris praised his substitutes and the energy they brought, adding: 'It feeds the confidence, especially at home. We want to rebuild our fortress, but it is a process.'
