Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick as United came from behind to defeat Ipswich Town 5-2 in the Premier League at Old Trafford. Ipswich took an early lead through Leif Davis in the 28th minute, but Fernandes equalised before half-time after capitalising on a mistake by Marcelino Núñez. Harry Maguire put United ahead early in the second half with a deflected shot, which stood after a VAR review for handball.

Fernandes then converted a penalty after Jacob Greaves fouled Matheus Cunha, and completed his hat-trick minutes later with a close-range finish. By the 70th minute, United led 4-1, with Bryan Mbeumo adding a fifth late on after a Fernandes assist. Ipswich pulled one back through Chuba Akpom in stoppage time after Julio Enciso dispossessed Lisandro Martínez.

The win was vital for United following their opening-day loss to Hull City, while Ipswich, who had beaten Sunderland the previous weekend, now face Liverpool at Portman Road next Friday.
