Politicians and environmental groups are criticizing a potential Major League Baseball game at Grand Teton National Park in northwest Wyoming. The Washington Post reported that the Trump administration scouted locations there to build a baseball park, with National Park Service deputy director Frank Lands visiting three potential sites last week. A White House official told the Associated Press that MLB inquired about hosting a game but emphasized it was not a presidential directive and no permits have been granted. "It's abhorrent," said Mike Gierau, a Democratic Wyoming state senator. "Baseball is the American game.

The national parks are America's greatest idea. But a national park is to be protected for its undeveloped and scenic values." Environmental groups also oppose the plan. "Americans want to see protections for our national parks strengthened. Bulldozing these lands for a baseball stadium does the opposite," said Chris Kassar, Wyoming chapter director of the Sierra Club.

MLB has increasingly used unique venues in recent years, including the Field of Dreams game, the Little League Classic, a game at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2025, and Rickwood Field in 2024.
