Texas defensive end Colin Simmons was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct after simulating urinating on the field during a 20-17 victory over Tennessee. The incident occurred in the first half when Simmons sacked Vols quarterback Faizon Brandon for a 16-yard loss. Instead of forcing a punt, the penalty extended Tennessee's drive at Neyland Stadium.

The Vols overcame the setback and tied the game on a 56-yard punt return in the third quarter. Simmons, a top SEC defender and possible first-round draft pick, had back-to-back sacks later in the third quarter without celebration. ESPN draft expert Jason Reid ranks him fifth overall among prospects.

The Longhorns improved to 3-0 while Tennessee fell to 2-1.
