Texas quarterback Arch Manning apologized Tuesday for laughing and making an "insensitive comment" about an AI-generated video showing coach Steve Sarkisian slapping ESPN reporter Holly Rowe.

The video referenced Sarkisian cutting off Rowe's question after Texas beat Ohio State 24-23. In the AI clip, Sarkisian shouts "Hook 'em!" then slaps Rowe, who falls face down. On Monday, Manning laughed when asked about fan edits: "I saw an AI edit of Sark's interview... of him slapping Holly Rowe? It's hilarious."

After backlash, Manning posted an apology on Instagram Story: "I made an insensitive comment... There is nothing funny about it... I specifically want to apologize to Holly Rowe... I need to do better." Rowe said on X they discussed it and she accepted: "Apology accepted. We move forward with respect and kindness."

Manning, son of Cooper and nephew of Peyton and Eli, finished 23-of-37 for 195 yards and rushed eight times for 24 yards. Texas next plays UT San Antonio on Saturday.
