NHL Hockey 24-Hour Briefing

Overtime Heroics

Scored 39 seconds into OT Charlie McAvoy secured a 2-1 victory for the Boston Bruins over the Los Angeles Kings, extending their franchise-record home winning streak to 13 games. The defenseman’s decisive goal followed another loss of teeth, requiring urgent dental work post-game.

League Movement

Assigned to AHL Top prospect Donovan Smith will begin his career with the San Jose Sharks' affiliate, while others like David Jiricek are expected to contribute immediately for the Columbus Blue Jackets. This influx of youth impacts the tight Western Conference wild card race, where the Minnesota Wild, Dallas Stars, and Winnipeg Jets are jockeying for position with fewer than 10 games remaining.
