Clearlake Capital has agreed to acquire full control of Chelsea FC from Todd Boehly and Mark Walter, ending a joint-ownership arrangement that has governed the Premier League club since 2022. The transaction consolidates the stake held by the California-based private equity firm, which had co-managed the club alongside its American partners. Financial terms were not disclosed, though the deal marks one of the largest single-club control transfers in English football history.

Asset Management M&A

Amundi has completed its purchase of a 9.9% stake in Intermediate Capital Group for €620M, deepening the French asset manager's foothold in London-listed alternatives. ICG oversees $126bn in assets under management and has been a major beneficiary of institutional demand for private credit. The stake sale gives Amundi strategic exposure to one of Europe's fastest-growing direct-lending platforms.
