Apple last week unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Pre-orders began Saturday, September 12, and the devices launch this Friday, September 18. Here are 10 new features.

The A20 Pro chip is the first 2nm chip in an iPhone, with a 6-core CPU, 7-core GPU, and 32-core Neural Engine. Apple says it delivers up to 20% faster CPU performance and up to 40% faster graphics performance versus the A19 Pro. New colors include Burgundy, Black, and Glacier. A smaller Dynamic Island supports up to three Live Activities at once.

The main 48-megapixel Fusion camera has variable aperture (ƒ/1.48, ƒ/1.8, ƒ/2.8, ƒ/4.0), plus new Pro controls for shutter speed, white balance, and aperture, and a histogram. Time-lapse videos can be recorded in 4K Dolby Vision HDR. Battery life is longer, especially on the Pro Max, and fast charging to 50% takes 15 minutes.

The revamped vapor chamber has three times more surface area. A second-generation C2 cellular modem is included worldwide, except the U.S. Pro Max, which uses a Qualcomm modem. Both models now offer 2TB storage.
