Threads Overhauls Analytics With AI Summaries

Threads is overhauling its in-app analytics with more details, except for link clicks. The insights section now surfaces AI summaries and contextual info about post performance. Meta's redesigned "insights" panel features Meta AI-powered summaries about individual posts and your account overall. For example, an AI summary might explain, "This post got about 8 times more views than your recent posts, and reach was higher too." The panel still breaks down granular statistics like views, viewers, likes and reposts, but now details whether these numbers are "higher," "lower" or "typical" compared to recent posts.

Threads' analytics also surfaces which communities are driving engagement on a particular post. At the profile level, insights give a zoomed-out view of your Threads presence, including quieter months, audience demographics, and best times for reach. However, one metric is conspicuously absent: stats around link clicks. Threads had added link performance details last year, but the company has now eliminated that data, and it's not available in the expanded analytics either.

A Meta spokesperson said they were "exploring" the feature but didn't comment on why it was removed. This suggests that as Threads focuses more on its homegrown "communities," Meta is de-emphasizing off-platform content.
