Google Chrome will now release updates every two weeks, moving from its previous four-week cycle implemented in 2021. Starting with Chrome 153 for desktop, iOS, and Android, new features and security fixes will reach stable versions faster. This shift works with Chrome's new security strategy, which utilizes automated AI tools powered by Gemini to discover and fix vulnerabilities more efficiently.

Smaller, more frequent updates are easier and faster to download. Organizations can opt out of the two-week cycle and use the Extended Stable channel, which provides weekly security fixes and major updates every two months. Since the transition, Chrome 154 is scheduled for release on September 22 and is currently available for beta testing.

The accelerated schedule aims to protect users against fast-moving threats more effectively.
