One of the best things about Apple’s Car Play platform is the robust availability of third-party apps from i Phone. This week, Radar Scope, the popular and powerful i Phone weather app, was updated with support for Car Play.

Radar Scope is an incredibly capable radar app for i Phone, with high-resolution data from over 300 radars. It lets you track severe weather and all of the necessary data. The new Radar Scope app for Car Play has a range of powerful features, and is not just a basic port of the i Phone version.

In a post on X, weather enthusiast Jackson has a great explanation of why the launch of Radar Scope on Car Play is so exciting. Most notably: Car Play with navigation!!! You can select MRMS, Single site, satellite, and overlay your route on that. As you drive, if you use single site, it will auto switch the radar to the radar you are closest to as you drive.

Jackson also shared several pictures of the Radar Scope app in Car Play. The Radar Scope 5.7 update is here for Apple platforms, excluding Mac OS for now.
