Apple has confirmed that macOS 27 Golden Gate will launch on September 14, alongside iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and other operating systems. The announcement came during the "Surprise and Shine" event at WWDC26.

The update introduces a new Siri app, revamped Siri AI, and an AI-powered Shortcuts app that can create shortcuts from natural language prompts. Additional features include an AI-powered extension builder, pull-to-refresh in Safari, iPhone mirroring improvements, and video support in Apple Podcasts.

Golden Gate also brings new wallpapers and screensavers, and restores fixed-radius corners for windows and apps, reversing the dynamically changing corner radii introduced in macOS 26.

Apple's official list of compatible Macs includes MacBook Neo (2026), MacBook Air (2020 and later), MacBook Pro (2020 and later), iMac (2021 and later), Mac mini (2020 and later), Mac Studio (2022 and later), and Mac Pro (2023 and later). Note that some advanced Siri AI features require Macs with M3 or later and at least 12GB of memory.
