iOS 27 Bug Freezes iPhone, Goes Viral on Social Media

Just days after iOS 27 was released, users found a way to temporarily brick iPhones with a series of swipes. It's going viral as a prank.

The soft-lock is harmless and can be fixed by force-rebooting. On an iOS 27 phone, pull down from the top-left to open Notification Center, then quickly pull down from the top-right to open Control Center. Dismiss Control Center and the phone may freeze: lock screen buttons stick, home screen swiping fails, taps don't register, and the power-off slider won't respond.

To force reboot, press volume up, volume down, then hold the side button until the Apple logo appears. The bug is easy to trigger, though timing is tight. It works on iPhone Air running iOS 27.0 and iOS 27.2 beta.
