Floyd Samba's scintillating first-team debut stole the show at Etihad Stadium on Thursday, snatching headlines from another high-profile teenager in Manchester. The 17-year-old scored twice in Manchester City's 5-0 Carabao Cup third-round thrashing of Norwich City, overshadowing the saga of 15-year-old JJ Gabriel's potential departure from Manchester United.

Samba was prolific in City's under-18 side last season, scoring 24 goals and providing 10 assists, leading to his promotion by new manager Enzo Maresca. "To get a debut like that is mind-blowing," Samba told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I couldn't believe it myself - but that is just the beginning."

On his debut, Samba played the full 90 minutes, breaking the deadlock with a header before curling in a delightful second. He was named man of the match.
