American League Midday Action & Injuries
The Athletics secured a narrow victory over the Yankees 1-0 in the Bronx, largely thanks to starter Jeffrey Springs, who carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning before combining with two relievers for a one-hitter. However, Oakland’s offensive efforts were hampered early when outfielder Brent Rooker felt back pain after a first-inning swing and exited the contest. Meanwhile, the Tigers suffered a frightening injury when center fielder Parker Meadows was removed via cart following a severe head-to-head collision with teammate Riley Greene as Greene secured a fly ball catch during Thursday's matchup.
