Senate candidates in Alaska, Iowa, and Kansas have publicly uninvited her, while nominees in Texas and Arizona also refused her help. A donor prospectus obtained by The New York Times outlined her strategy to maintain influence ahead of a potential 2028 run, emphasizing Black voter turnout after the Supreme Court weakened the Voting Rights Act.

However, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic Senate nominee in Michigan, will appear with Harris on Tuesday. The visit benefits both: Harris gains a high-profile stop in a key Senate race, while El-Sayed receives establishment validation to unite Black voters and moderates after a divisive primary against Representative Haley Stevens. Harris also plans stops in Nevada with Attorney General Aaron Ford, in California with House candidates, and in Georgia with Senator Jon Ossoff. Harris recently told Megan Rapinoe she is focused entirely on winning the midterms.
