Kimi Antonelli won the Spanish Grand Prix at the new Madring circuit, extending his championship lead over Mercedes team-mate George Russell to 81 points. World champion Lando Norris led from pole but lost the advantage during a virtual safety car period, finishing third behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen in second. Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton was one of four retirements due to a brake failure, losing ground to title leader Antonelli but remaining third in the standings.

BBC Radio 5 Live commentator Harry Benjamin rated the drivers' weekend performances. Antonelli earned 9/10 for being "quick throughout" and capitalizing on the VSC, though minor off-track moments prevented a perfect score. Verstappen also scored 9/10 for defending brilliantly against a faster Norris late on. Norris received the highest rating of 9.5/10, with Benjamin stating he "probably deserved to win" before the ill-timed VSC and a slow pit stop cost him.

Franco Colapinto impressed with 9/10 for Alpine, reaching Q3 and finishing seventh ahead of Oscar Piastri's McLaren. Liam Lawson scored 8/10 for Red Bull in Isack Hadjar's continued absence, while Arvid Lindblad earned 7.5/10 after recovering from a heavy Friday crash to take ninth. Lewis Hamilton's early exit and George Russell's fifth place (6.5/10) highlighted Mercedes' intra-team disparity.
