Iraola Laments Creativity As Liverpool Held By Fulham

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola bemoaned a lack of creativity after his side were held to a 0-0 draw by Fulham at Anfield. The result leaves Iraola unbeaten so far this term, but Liverpool have yet to win at home in the Premier League this season. Liverpool struggled to create opportunities against a Fulham team that had lost their opening three games. Iraola insisted his side's shortcomings were evident, stating they couldn't create as many chances as wanted and haven't scored a goal.

The Reds lacked the energy shown in their midweek Champions League win over Atletico Madrid, though Iraola refused to use fatigue as an excuse. He admitted there was a lack of freshness, citing the worst turnaround in 60-something hours after the big game against Atletico Madrid. However, he noted such circumstances would happen more times during the season and his side had to adapt.

Bradley Barcola made his full Premier League debut, deployed from the left in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Iraola explained his thinking regarding wing positioning, stating all wingers would play on both sides depending on match-ups and defensive demand. He added they are building Barcola's physical condition after he hadn't had any in pre-season, noting he played a little bit in the game.
