Inter Miami's Mateo Silvetti Out for Season After Shoulder Surgery

Inter Miami forward Mateo Silvetti is out for the season after undergoing surgery for a dislocated left shoulder. He initially suffered the injury during the Leagues Cup match against Atlético San Luis on Aug. 5.

Silvetti briefly returned against Atlanta United FC on Sept. 5, playing 10 minutes in a 2-2 draw before being substituted out due to pain. "Forward Mateo Silvetti has successfully undergone surgery on his left shoulder... The player will now begin the corresponding recovery process, focused on the upcoming season," Inter Miami confirmed.

Silvetti played an integral role in the team's 2025 MLS Cup campaign, recording two goals and three assists in six games. This season, he managed three goals and four assists in 14 MLS games before the injury. Inter Miami has been plagued by injuries, with six players unavailable in their last match against Chicago Fire FC. Tadeo Allende is also out for the season after knee surgery. Santiago Morales, Sergio Reguilón, Micael and Gonzalo Luján were also sidelined on Sept. 9. Inter Miami sits second in the Eastern Conference with 44 points in 24 games and faces Nashville SC on Saturday.
