Barcelona sporting director Deco has stated the Spanish champions have no interest in signing 15-year-old Manchester United forward JJ Gabriel, who has requested to leave Old Trafford. Deco made the comments at the Portugal Football Summit, saying 'There's nothing to say about this boy' and denying Barcelona are monitoring the situation despite media links.

Gabriel, who has scored a hat-trick for United's youth teams, formally requested his registration be cancelled before turning 16 on Oct. 6 to allow him to sign elsewhere. United sources say club bosses were surprised by his decision and are unclear on his reasons.

While Real Madrid and other clubs have been linked with the youngster, Deco emphasized Barcelona are 'not interested in any player in his situation' and that dealing with teenage players 'is not our business.'

Manchester United coach Michael Carrick confirmed he is involved in conversations about Gabriel's future, with the Premier League side not completely giving up on retaining him.
