Apple today seeded the release candidate versions of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 for final testing, coming a week after the eighth betas. These will be the last beta updates before the public release, barring bugs. Registered developers and public beta testers can download them via the Settings app under General > Software Update.

iOS 27 introduces Apple's smarter Siri AI, a ChatGPT-like chatbot that uses personal data and onscreen awareness. New Apple Intelligence features appear in Photos, Safari, Shortcuts, Wallet, and Passwords, plus a standalone Siri app for conversations. Write with Siri works systemwide, and Visual Intelligence moves to the Camera app with a new Siri mode.

Apple improved Liquid Glass with a transparency slider and multiple performance boosts, making everything faster even on older iPhones. Apps launch quicker, AirDrop transfers are faster, the keyboard pops up more swiftly, and Wi-Fi to Cellular transitions are smoother. Apple also seeded an iOS 26.7 release candidate update.
