We attended the vivo X500 Pro Max unveiling in China and are now back at HQ for an unboxing. This is vivo's latest premium flagship, sitting just below the Ultra model, featuring a new 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro SoC with up to 16GB of RAM and an 8,000mAh battery. The triple camera system includes a 50MP 1/1.28-inch main sensor with LOFIC technology behind a 24mm f/1.6 stabilized lens, a 200MP 1/1.4-inch sensor with 85mm f/2.7 zoom lens, and a 50MP 1/2.75-inch ultrawide at 15mm f/2.0.

The retail package includes the phone (1TB/16GB model), USB-A to USB-C cable, 90W charger, and a soft rubber case matching the phone's color—though it's slippery and prone to smudges. The Creator Kit adds 18 accessories: two teleconverter lenses (2.35x/4.7x), camera straps, lens collars, filter adapters, replacement caps, and a novel external Preview accessory—a 4:3 metal display with three buttons and USB-C port that pairs via Bluetooth, controls camera functions even when the phone is locked, and includes its own Mag Safe-compatible case. The custom camera bag uses magnetic halves for flexible packing.

The vivo X500 Pro Max is currently available in China and launches in Europe on October 27, with sales starting November 5.
