Meta announced Ray-Ban Meta Audio, its first smart glasses without a camera, at Meta Connect 2026. Priced at $349, the glasses respond to backlash against camera-enabled models nicknamed "pervert glasses." Meta frames the release as an acknowledgment that audio has always been its most popular smart glasses feature.

The new frames support calls, voice messaging, podcasts, music, and Meta AI for live translation and real-time answers. Weighing 43 grams, they last up to 12 hours with an extra 48 hours from the charging case. Available in Burbank and Clubmaster styles across 23 colors, they ship October 13.

Ditching the camera makes the glasses lighter and less conspicuous, though the company notes this likely won't convert critics. Meta also teased ongoing hardware improvements and optical prescription support.
