SmartGym is out with a massive update today that introduces AI-powered workout creation, management, deeper Siri integration, and features leveraging iOS 27, iPadOS, and watchOS 27. SmartGym is an Apple Design Award winner, and developer Matt Abras is constantly updating the app.

SmartGym 8 introduces SmartGym Intelligence, the app's own take on Private Cloud Compute. Since SmartGym isn't eligible for Apple's Private Cloud Compute via the Foundation Models framework, Abras built his own. Every request is anonymous and disconnected from user identity. Prompts and responses are never logged, cached, or retained. SmartGym never connects directly to an AI lab.

Users can now create workout routines with natural language, like "create a push-pull-legs workout with 10 exercises per day. Avoid bench press." They can tweak with prompts such as "move leg day to Friday" or "make Wednesday a rest day." On Apple Watch, tap "Add Workout," choose "just say it," and describe what you want.

SmartGym 8 also leverages new Siri AI. Siri can surface routines, exercises, equipment, and schedules via voice. Users can start sessions, control active workouts, and create new sessions with Siri AI.
