Another Ryzen 7 7800X3D has reportedly swollen and burned, damaging the ROG Crosshair X670E Hero motherboard. UNIKO's Hardware flagged the case, citing a Bilibili video showing clear underside CPU swelling and socket discoloration. Socket pins are warped, and one notch appears misaligned.

The BIOS version was unconfirmed, relevant to AMD's prior fix. This follows similar failures from April 2023 on X670E boards, which AMD attributed to excessive SoC voltage and addressed via AGESA firmware capping voltage at 1.30V. Despite the fix, reports persist—recently, a 7800X3D burned on an MSI PRO X870-P WIFI board with latest BIOS and EXPO enabled.

Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPUs have shown identical failure patterns. Users are advised to verify BIOS updates and monitor SoC voltage to mitigate risk.
