Sir Kevin Sinfield will take the Super League Grand Final match ball on his seventh and final challenge, delivering it at Old Trafford on October 3, live on Sky Sports.

The former Leeds Rhinos and England captain is embarking on another gruelling running endeavour, raising awareness and funds for the MND community across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Sinfield has helped raise more than £11m for the MND community since his first annual challenge in 2020.

Starting at Hull KR on September 27 and visiting each of the 12 English Super League clubs' home grounds, he will finish at Old Trafford ahead of the Grand Final. Sinfield led Leeds to seven Grand Final glories at the Theatre of Dreams and will present the match ball.

"I think it's nice to bring it back home to the rugby league community. This is where it all started for Rob," Sinfield told Sky Sports. "To visit some venues where he terrorised opponents is particularly special and to finish at Old Trafford is great."

Old Trafford is where Burrow scored arguably the best Grand Final try in 2011 against St Helens. Sinfield added: "Rob scored, in my opinion, the greatest Super League try, greatest Grand Final try ever. He won eight Grand Finals."

Rhodri Jones, RL commercial managing director and interim RFL chief executive, said: "Sir Kevin is one of the most iconic names in Super League history."
