Align Capital Partners portfolio company Advantage Investigations has completed the acquisition of Nor Star Investigations, an investigative services firm based in Fishkill, New York, for undisclosed terms. Nor Star provides surveillance, background checks, and insurance fraud, insurance claim and legal investigations. It primarily serves general liability insurance carriers, third-party administrators and law firms in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The Nor Star team will continue to handle assignments and serve clients. The deal is Advantage’s second add-on since partnering with ACP in late 2025 and its sixth acquisition overall. The company said acquisitions will remain an important part of its growth strategy, with a focus on expanding capabilities, service offerings and geographic reach.
Matt Iodice, Rob Langley, Stuart Schardin, Sarah Whitney and Joe Vitale worked alongside management on the transaction. Charlotte, North Carolina-headquartered Advantage provides insurance investigative services that help clients validate claims, identify and reduce fraud, control financial losses and resolve claims, using a nationwide network of in-house investigators. ACP, which has investment teams in Cleveland and Dallas, manages $3.2 billion in committed capital and makes control investments in lower-middle-market companies in the business services, technology, specialty manufacturing and distribution sectors.
