Apple Watch Series 12: Layar lebih kecil, Kasus lebih besar

The Apple Watch Series 12 features a smaller display with a wider case compared to Series 10 and Series 11, despite unchanged pixel resolution. For the 46mm model, display area is 1,196 sq mm, down 2% from 1,220 sq mm on prior models. The 42mm size shows a 1.9% drop, from 989 sq mm to 970 sq mm.

Pixel counts remain identical: 416x496 at 46mm and 374x446 at 42mm. The case grows as the screen shrinks: 46mm case is now 46mm by 40mm by 9.7mm, up from 46mm by 39mm by 9.7mm—a roughly 2.6% increase in footprint. The 42mm case grew from 42mm by 36mm to 42mm by 37mm, about 2.8%, with depth unchanged at 9.7mm.

This results in larger borders around the display, amplified by design tweaks that recess the casing and expand front glass. A similar pattern occurred with Series 10 replacing Series 9 in 2024, where visible aluminum edge shrank 33% but total bezel grew 17%. Series 12 follows this trend, though less intensely.

Series 10, 11, and 12 share similar case design, unlike the full redesign from Series 9 to 10. Apple Watch Series 12 starts at $399 and launches September 18.
