Xiaomi has formally launched its first-ever ‘mid-size’ foldable, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, featuring a 7.68-inch inner display and 5.38-inch outer display with a unified A4 aspect ratio. At 219g, it is the lightest foldable Xiaomi has ever made. The device boasts a new-generation proprietary hinge with a three-link design, described as solid and strong—stronger than rival foldable hinges.

Both screens use Xiaomi Hyper RGB panels with full RGB subpixel structure, peaking at 4,000 nits brightness and supporting 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rates. The phone is protected by Shield Glass 3.0 and a more robust aluminum alloy frame. Notably, it is the first Xiaomi flagship to run on in-house silicon: the XRING 03 chip, built on a 3nm process with a 10-core all-big-core CPU and 16-core GPU.

Xiaomi claims the XRING 03 delivers 45% faster on-device decoding performance on the NPU compared to its previous-gen processor. The device includes a substantial silicon-carbon battery, the largest for a foldable form factor, supporting 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. Camera-wise, it features a Leica triple-camera system with a 200MP main sensor and a 50MP Leica periscope telephoto.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold launches in red, black, and white in China at 10,999 yuan (~$1,640), with no IP rating disclosed. A special silicon nitride ceramic edition is teased but not yet available.
