Informa announced plans to separate its academic publishing arm, Taylor & Francis, from its core operations. The move coincides with the company's acquisition of Clarion Events for an enterprise value of 2.24 billion pounds, or $2.96 billion. Informa stated it would focus on its core business-to-business arm following the separation.

The company said it would review all options to support Taylor & Francis, which is approaching $1 billion in revenue, and planned to publish outcomes of the review in March. The acquisition of Clarion from Blackstone represents further business-to-business expansion for Informa. To part-fund the purchase, Informa plans to raise gross proceeds of around 940 million pounds via an equity issue.

The company expects the deal to deliver mid-single digit adjusted diluted earnings per share enhancement in 2027, with a double-digit post-tax return on invested capital within three years. Informa backed its 2026 guidance for 6% underlying revenue growth and double-digit growth in underlying earnings per share. The placing, retail offer, and subscription will be conducted through an accelerated bookbuild, with the largest institutional shareholder participating on a pro rata basis.
