A fund run by a Jefferies Financial Group Inc. subsidiary is seeking a freezing injunction against iron ore trader Radiant World and its founder Pinkesh Nahar in Singapore, days after securing a worldwide freezing order against them from a UK court. LAM Trade Finance Group II LLC’s application is scheduled to be heard in Singapore’s High Court on Sept. 9, according to the judiciary’s hearing list. The case names Radiant World’s main Singapore operating entity, its Hong Kong parent, Nahar, Sapphire Minmetals Corporation Ltd. and its chairman Rakesh Sethi as defendants.

The move follows a prior UK court ruling that granted a global asset freeze, signaling escalating legal pressure on the commodities trader amid allegations of financial misconduct. The Singapore hearing will determine whether the UK order will be recognized and enforced locally, with potential implications for Radiant World’s operations across Asia. Jefferies Financial Group Inc. and its affiliate LAM Trade Finance Group II LLC are pursuing the action to prevent asset dissipation ahead of further litigation.

The case underscores growing scrutiny of international trade finance practices in the iron ore sector.
