Solo developer Marcin Firmuga has shipped PC_Workman v1.6.3+ as a standalone .exe after six months of open-source development. Using PyInstaller, the executable allows users to run the PC resource monitor without installing Python. This milestone marks the transition from code on GitHub to distributable software.

The release immediately attracted four testers, who found bugs like incorrect window sizing and reset settings. Firmuga fixed a key issue—switching from in-memory to a persistent JSON config file—and shipped a patch the same day. This rapid feedback loop demonstrates the practical value of moving from development to user testing.

For users, the .exe simplifies installation. For developers, it provides real-world performance data and validation. Firmuga plans to release v1.6.4 in early February and aims for a Microsoft Store launch in July. The project, built during warehouse shifts in the Netherlands, highlights the solo development journey from concept to shippable product.
