Alexander Zverev feels a significant result at Wimbledon is within reach this year, following his dominant second-round victory over Valentin Royer. The German, who recently captured his maiden Grand Slam title at the French Open, breezed through the early stages of the tournament. This newfound Grand Slam success has clearly bolstered his confidence heading into the grass-court major.

Zverev dispatched Royer 6-1, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) in just over two hours. He established early control, winning the first nine games and showcasing strong form. Although Royer managed to force a tie-break in the third set after Zverev wobbled, the second seed quickly regained his composure to secure the win and advance.

Having never progressed beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon, Zverev expressed optimism. "If I continue playing like this, I think it is definitely possible this year," he stated. His straightforward win over the 75th-ranked Royer sets up a third-round match against American Marcos Giron, and Zverev appears poised to challenge deeper into the tournament.
