Cardiff's return to the Champions Cup yielded positives despite a pointless defeat at Northampton. Experienced Wales internationals Taulupe Faletau and Josh Adams returned from injury, with Faletau impressing in 56 minutes and Adams featuring in the final quarter. Fly-half Sam Costelow left the field with a hamstring scare late in the first half.
Aneurin Owen delivered a man-of-the-match performance for Dragons in their win over Perpignan, while Shane Lewis-Hughes impressed with 27 tackles. Owen, 26, remains uncapped despite summer 2021 Wales squad inclusion. Dragons boss Filo Tiatia praised Owen's leadership and potential.
Sam Costelow's injury status is precautionary, while Ellis Mee and Macs Page shone for Scarlets. Ben Carter is a shoo-in for the Nations Championship squad, with Dillon Lewis and Elliot Dee competing for back-row and hooker spots respectively. Wales head coach Tandy balances club form with international experience as he finalizes his squad ahead of the autumn internationals.
