The 23-year-old's explosive form for Ireland during the Six Nations had seen him claim the tournament's 'Rising Player' award and earn praise from head coach Andy Farrell. His absence is a major setback for the province as they chase a playoff spot.

Baloucoune's unavailability compounds a significant injury crisis for Ulster boss Richie Murphy. Several key players are already out for Friday's inter-provincial clash against Connacht, including Cormac Izuchukwu, James Hume, and Dave Shanahan (all concussed), Jude Postlethwaite (hand fracture), and Jake Flannery (shoulder). Second row Harry Sheridan is also suspended following a red card.

The timing is particularly problematic with Ireland's July Test series against Australia, Japan, and New Zealand on the horizon.
