Ty Gibbs will honor former NASCAR driver Kyle Busch when he competes in an M&M's paint scheme for next month's Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Busch died in May at the age of 41 due to severe pneumonia that progressed into sepsis.

Busch's widow, Samantha, announced on social media Thursday that Gibbs would drive in the classic M&M's paint scheme on "one of Kyle's favorite tracks." "Going back without him will be heartbreaking. He should be there," Samantha said. "But I'm so grateful to be able to tell you that those iconic M&M'S colors will be coming back to Bristol, one last time, on the 54 car."

Busch drove the No. 18 M&M's car for 15 seasons with Joe Gibbs Racing (2008-22) before moving to Richard Childress Racing in 2023. He found great success at Bristol, winning nine Cup Series races and 23 NASCAR races in total there, including three-race weekend sweeps in 2010 and 2017. His final win for Joe Gibbs Racing in the M&M's car was on the Bristol dirt track in April 2022.

The Bristol race is set for Sept. 19. "Excited for Bristol. Gonna be a cool one," Gibbs wrote on Instagram. "So honored to drive this."
