Super League: Dublin Hosts 2027 Wolves vs Warriors

Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors will clash in Dublin on 24 April 2027, the first Super League fixture staged in Ireland at the Laya Arena, home of rugby union side Leinster. The match, announced by Warrington chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick, is described as a landmark moment for the club, the Super League, and rugby league. Fitzpatrick said the success of the Las Vegas and Paris projects and the appetite for new audiences make Dublin the perfect next destination, a world‑class sporting city with a proven record of hosting major events.

This will be the second time the clubs meet in Dublin, after playing at Shelbourne Park in 1934; Wigan also faced Leeds in a Charity Shield fixture there in 1995. The fixture continues the trend of Super League games outside the heartlands, following the 2025 Las Vegas event and Wigan’s earlier Paris clash with Catalans. Wigan chief executive Kris Radlinski hopes the game will become another successful chapter in rugby league’s growth story.

The 20,000‑capacity Laya Arena has undergone a €52 million transformation and will reopen in August ahead of the 2026 Dublin Horse Show. The 2027 match will take place the week before next season’s Magic Weekend, set to begin on 1 May.
