Bunting's victory secured his second nightly win of the year and propelled him to fifth place in the final standings, leapfrogging Gian van Veen and Michael van Gerwen. At 5-3 up, he threw six perfect darts in pursuit of a nine-darter but settled for completing the job in 12 darts.

Despite the loss, Humphries climbed to third overall, setting up a semi-final clash with Jonny Clayton rather than world champion Luke Littler. Bunting celebrated his resurgence, telling Sky Sports: 'I was probably a bit hard on myself. I'm up to fifth! I'm so happy with that.'
