Co-hosts Sri Lanka delivered a commanding 105-run victory over Oman, securing their second consecutive win at the T20 World Cup. Captain Dasun Shanaka produced a sensational 19-ball fifty - the fastest by a Sri Lankan in T20 internationals - after entering at 136-3 in the 14th over.

Earlier, rapid half-centuries from Pavan Rathnayake (28-ball 60) and Kusal Mendis (45-ball 61) propelled Sri Lanka to 225-5, the highest tournament total so far. Oman's response faltered as only Muhammad Nadeem (53*) and Wasim Ali (27) reached double figures in their 120-9 total.

The victory establishes Sri Lanka as a serious contender in Group B, with their highest World Cup total since 2007. Shanaka's explosive innings, featuring two fours and five sixes, answered questions about his recent poor form. Oman now faces an uphill battle after back-to-back defeats.
