World number one Scottie Scheffler claimed his 20th PGA Tour victory at the American Express, winning by four shots in California. He finished at 27 under, holding off a final-round charge from Si-Woo Kim and a group at 23 under. This victory marks his first win of the new season in dominant fashion.

Reaching 20 wins, Scheffler becomes the second-fastest player to the milestone by days taken and the third-youngest. He joins Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win 20 events and four majors before turning 30. Scheffler also surpassed $100 million in career earnings, doing so in far fewer starts than Woods or Rory McIlroy.

Scheffler’s consistency is drawing inevitable comparisons to golf’s all-time greats. While Woods holds the records for wins (82) and majors (15), and Nicklaus owns the major record (18), Scheffler is building his legacy at a remarkable pace. His next major hurdle is the U.S. Open, which he needs to complete the career Grand Slam.
