Scarlets interim director of rugby Nigel Davies has confirmed he has yet to decide on his own future beyond the current season, despite already planning for next year's campaign. Davies, 60, returned to the Llanelli region in January following a board-led review that saw performance director Leigh Jones depart. His role involves overseeing rugby operations, reporting directly to the board with responsibility for performance, results, and selection, while head coach Dwayne Peel leads on-field matters.

Davies states his immediate focus is on improving the team's performance this season and laying foundations for the future, including recruitment and structural alignment. He emphasizes the need for a high-performance environment, aligning the club's 'DNA' with supporting processes like coaching roles, player profiles, and conditioning. Despite the uncertainty over his position, Davies is driving a significant structural reset behind the scenes, involving potential backroom changes, including defence coach Jared Payne's departure.

He insists the club must continually evolve to move forward.
